WALKING CIRCUIT IN HRUBÁ SKÁLA SANDSTONE TOWN, LOCAL RESTAURANT ABEL ́S MILL, SCOOTER RIDE FROM DOLÁNKY TO MALÁ SKÁLA

You will be picked up in your hotel and driven to the Bohemian Paradise - Český Ráj, situated about 100 km northeast from Prague. The journey takes approx. 1 - 1.5 hours. On the way you will see the rock fortress Drábské světničky, the Valdštejn castle, whose ruins in the Bohemian Paradise remain an impressive testament to its former glory, when the ancestral seat of the Lords of Wallenstein stood on this site; Kozákov Hill – the highest point of the Bohemian Paradise. We will pass the town Turnov to reach the Hrubá Skála chateau.

We will start at the courtyard of the chateau and walk to the rock town. The path will lead us through a 65 m long narrow rock corridor called the Mouse Hole to the sandstone town. From the Mariánská Lookout you will have an amazing view of the Hrubá Skála chateau, ruins of the Trosky castle and Kozákov Hill – the guardian mountain of the Bohemian Paradise and its surrounding countryside. After we finish our circuit, you will be driven to Dolánky, where you will have lunch in a unique local restaurant Abel ́s Mill. In Dolánky, you can visit Dlask ́s Farm, which is a former farmstead and a village magistrate’s office built in 1716 – a typical example of a building from the Jizera region. The building houses permanent exhibitions of the Museum of the Bohemian Paradise dedicated to rural dwellings and agricultural tools.

In front of Dlask ́s Farm you will be provided with a scooter and the Greenway Jizera path will take you through the fairytale-like Bohemian Paradise to MALÁ SKÁLA – a village on the banks of the Jizera under the slopes of the Vranov Ridge and Sokol Hill. The village boasts a number of homesteads of the Jizera region type, the best-known of which is Bouček ́s Farmstead.

You will enjoy a pleasant ride along the banks of the Jizera with a magnificent view of the Vranov castle, the Pantheon lookout and the Suché (Dry) Rocks. Your ride will finish at Žlutá plovárna, a unique sport- recreational centre located in the heart of the Bohemian Paradise in Malá Skála, directly on the bank of the Jizera.
