OUTSTANDING EXPERIENCE
SYCHROV CHATEAU, RUINS OF THE FRÝDŠTEJN CASTLE, LOCAL ATMOSPHERIC RESTAURANT IN BOUČEK ́S FARMSTEAD, FAMOUS ROCK TOWN HRUBÁ SKÁLA
This tour will take you to the heart of the Bohemian Paradise. You will be picked up in your hotel and driven to the Bohemian Paradise, situated about 100 km northeast from Prague. The journey takes approx. 1 - 1.5 hours. We will visit the Gothic Revival-style Sychrov chateau, where you can see many rare collections, including French portrait paintings and etched and painted Bohemian glass from the 18th and 19th centuries. You can also admire the English park surrounding the chateau.
From there, we will drive to the ruined Frýdštejn castle and on the way you will have the opportunity to see the Ještěd Tower. At first glance, it may appear that a spaceship has landed on the peak of the majestic Mount Ještěd. This unusual structure in the form of a hyperboloid, which houses a hotel and a television transmitter, is a symbol of the region.
Frýdštejn Castle Ruins _ The typical rock castle lies on the upper end of a long sandstone rock ridge, above the village of Frýdštejn. The castle dominates the nearby valley of River Jizera and the old trade route from Turnov to the north. We will enjoy a pleasant walk through a forest from Frýdštejn, along the Vranov castle, to the Pantheon lookout – a place with a beautiful view of the valley of the Jizera and the Suché (Dry) Rocks. We will stop at Bouček ́s Farmstead for lunch. It is a timbered, multi-storey building with a gabled roof and a high end gable in the bricked section, which dates back to 1813. It houses a permanent exhibition on the history of the Malá Skála area and an art gallery. There is a historical pub on the ground floor.
After a delicious lunch you will be driven around the Suché Rocks, with a magnificent view of Pantheon, Vranov and Frýdštejn. You can also admire the view of Kozákov Hill, the highest point of the Bohemian Paradise, as well as Vyskeř Hill, the ruins of the Trosky castle, the Valdštejn castle and the chateau of Hrubá Skála, our final destination.
We will visit the courtyard of the Hrubá Skála chateau and continue to the nearby rock town. The path will lead us through a 65 m long narrow rock corridor called the Mouse Hole to the sandstone town.
