DELUXE ENJOYMENT

SYCHROV CHATEAU, DLASK FARM, LOCAL ATMOSPHERIC RESTAURANT ÁBELŮV MLÝN, FAMOUS ROCK TOWN HRUBÁ SKÁLA, KOST CASTLE

For travellers who want to escape the large coach crowd and tour the sites that interest them most at their own pace, a private car and a professional guide for a day is the answer. The Bohemian Paradise acquired its name for a reason. It is a genuine paradise for those who enjoy walks between high stone walls, sweeping views of wonderful landscapes and exploring elegant chateaux.

Our tour will start in Prague. We will pick you up in your hotel and drive you to the Bohemian Paradise. On the way you will see beautiful scenery – the Drábské Světničky Fortress, which, thanks to its position and the use of the rock’s natural defensive forms, withstood enemy attacks for many centuries. The fortress is one of the most popular sites in the Bohemian Paradise area thanks to the views it affords of the surrounding countryside. Views of Kozákov Hill – the highest point of the Bohemian Paradise, the majestic Mount Ještěd and beautiful countryside will accompany you during your trip.

We will visit the Gothic Revival-style Sychrov chateau, where you can see many rare collections, including French portrait paintings and etched and painted Bohemian glass from the 18th and 19th centuries. You can also admire the English park surrounding the chateau, where a picnic will be prepared for you.

After the refreshments, you will be transported to Dolánky – a part of Turnov where you can enjoy the landscape around River Jizera, with a magnificent view of the Hrubý Rohozec chateau. You will visit Dlask ́s Farm, a former farmstead and a village magistrate’s office built in 1716 – a typical example of a building from the Jizera region. The building houses permanent exhibitions of the Museum of the Bohemian Paradise dedicated to rural dwellings and agricultural tools.

Lunch time will be spent in the local atmospheric restaurant Ábelův mlýn – “Abel ́s Mill” – where you will have the opportunity to taste typical Czech cuisine. After a delicious lunch you will be driven to the Hrubá Skála chateau. We will visit the courtyard of the chateau and continue to the rock town. This circuit (an approx. 3 km walk) begins and ends at Hrubá Skála chateau, which stands atop two sandstone towers. The path will lead us through a 65 m long narrow rock corridor called the Mouse Hole to the sandstone town. Panoramic views of Hrubá Skála come at the Mariánská Lookout.

On the way back to Prague, we will stop at the Kost castle, which lies in an attractive landscape of forests and sandstone rocks aptly called the Bohemian Paradise due to its charm. Kost is one of the few remaining medieval castle in the Czech Republic and is considered the second most important.

Castle Kost

Kost Castle lies in an attractive landscape of forests and sandstone rocks, which because of its charm is rightly called Bohemian Paradise. I stands on a low promontory above ponds whose dams were release in times of danger, turning the castle it into a water fortress. In time when war threatened, the lord of the castle retreated with his family to the top floor of the solidly built white tower.
